Role & Responsibility
As a Lead UX/UI Designer, you are responsible for defining and executing the design vision, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard of quality. This role requires you to manage stakeholders effectively, building strong relationships with clients, developers, and cross-functional teams to support project success. With clear and effective communication and presentation skills, you’ll articulate design decisions and influence the overall direction of projects. You are fully capable of executing tasks independently, handling complex responsibilities without supervision, and offering guidance to less experienced team members. While consulting with experts for highly specialized issues, you bring a deep understanding of UX/UI principles, including the nuances and edge cases, and can adapt to new or unexpected situations. Through your leadership, you’ll ensure that all design work aligns with business objectives and fulfills user needs.
User Experience Design: Define and oversee the design of complex user flows, information architecture, and end-to-end user journeys that address both user needs and business goals. Lead the creation of personas, journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes, ensuring strategic alignment and consistency across all deliverables.
User Interface Design: Oversee the development of intuitive and visually cohesive interfaces, maintaining consistency with design systems, accessibility standards, and branding guidelines. Ensure high-quality visual and functional designs across platforms, aligning with project and organizational goals.
Usability Testing & Iteration: Plan and lead usability testing sessions, analyzing results to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement. Drive iterative design processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to incorporate insights into impactful design solutions.
User Research & Insights: Lead and oversee user research efforts, including interviews, surveys, and field studies. Translate findings into actionable insights and strategic design recommendations, ensuring research drives decision-making throughout the design process.
Concept Development: Drive ideation, sketching, and rapid prototyping sessions to explore innovative solutions that address user needs and business objectives. Validate and refine concepts in collaboration with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Documentation & Communication: Create comprehensive design documentation and specifications for cross-functional teams. Present design strategies, concepts, and updates to stakeholders, facilitating discussions and building alignment around project goals.
Mentorship & Team Development: Assign tasks and manage workloads for junior and mid-level designers to ensure efficient project delivery. Provide mentorship and leadership through constructive feedback, regular one-on-one meetings, and performance reviews. Foster a collaborative, supportive environment that encourages knowledge sharing, professional development, and alignment with team goals.
Continuous Learning & Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, tools, and methodologies, proactively driving process improvements and innovation within the team. Advocate for adopting best practices to elevate design quality and efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and other teams to ensure a seamless and technically feasible user experience. Provide guidance on design implementation and maintain alignment across teams.
Stakeholder Management & Communication: Build strong relationships with stakeholders, delivering clear and compelling presentations on design strategies, project progress, and user insights. Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring alignment between business goals and design solutions.
Project Management: Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring efficient resource allocation and timely completion. Use tools like Jira to manage tasks, track progress, and maintain high standards of quality control. Encourage accurate and timely logging of hours in project management tools.
Sales & Marketing Support: Lead the creation of proposals, presentations, and concept designs that highlight the value of design expertise. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to refine materials and develop user-centered content strategies for clients, investors, and partners.
Adherence to Frameworks: Standardize and productize design systems by creating reusable components and libraries to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
